Joel, Do you have the old or the new encoder? look in the hole to the right of the encoder shaft - if you see a bit of green, it is the old encoder, if nothing in that hole it is the new one. The new encoder needs 3 felt washers stacked while the old encoders need only one. Contact Elecraft,

My K2 VFO knob spins a little more freely than I'd like. I took it off and looked at the felt and it appears pretty thin and worn. I really thought about using the felt rings that you can get for 12 VDC battery terminals but wondered if anything’s on those rings (anti-corrosive) that would keep
