My new K2/100 is working well, so I decided to do a complete realignment and
button it up.
I set up the reference oscillator using Spectrogram and EA3ADV's method. Using
10MHz WWV (and a couple of iterations), I managed to get the frequency to read
within 10Hz on 10MHz WWV and 5Mhz WWV and wit
Thanks Don. I downloaded your procedure and will go through it this week.
Thanks again for your quick response.

Fred,
It could be either the VFO or the filters or both.
Go to my webpage www.w3fpr.com and follow the instructions in the K2
Dial Calibration article. That should line everything up quite nicely
(within 20 or 30 Hz anyway).

I have noticed that my K2 dial calibration seems to match my ICOM 756 Pro III
for all CW stations. However, when I compare signals SSB signals the K2
seems to be off by about 200 cycles. Is this a dial calibration issue or
something related to the filters?
I had not noticed this until I instal
I have just updated my website www.w3fpr.com article dealing with K2
Dial Calibration with the procedure provided by EA3ADV. This added
information is an adaptation to the N6KR method for setting the 4 MHz
reference, but details the use of RWM at 9996.00 kHz instead of 10 or 15
MHz WWV.

John,
That sounds like inverted sidebands to me. Try presetting the CAL FIL BFO
values to those indicated in the manual to get things in the ballpark and
then go through the procedure again. The procedure does work FB, I use it 2
or 3 times a week on K2s that are in here for repair/alignment/cal
Trying to use Wayne's procedure for calibrating my dial using WWV on
10 Mhz. So I tuned it in using Spectrogram with 500/600 hz markers to
match the tones. Tweaked C22 till VXO and BFO matched up. Ran cal PLL
and cal FIL. Now I hear the signal fine, USB/LSB/CW, tuned in fine,
but the display is off
