If you do use the main xmt antenna for AM BC reception you can
manually adjust the ATU for best signal (config KAT3: LC SET).
But note: In the current K3 bandswitch scheme, any MW (AM BC) freq you
dial up will automatically be considered 160m. So, if you manually
adjust the tuner for a MW BC stat
The General Coverage BP filter set seems to have no effect on the ham bands
- it shouldn't, as it is switched out during ham band receive.
If you do get the General Coverage BP filters, note that for maximum
sensitivity for MW reception use the RX antenna input rather than the main

I tried to listen to the AM Broadcast band on my K3. I got basically
nothing. I'm assuming I'd need the general coverage bandpass filter
module. Does this module degrade RX performance in the ham bands? I
assume so.
OK, that's 2 assumptions. How am I doing?

Keith,
It workds great; doesn't degrade ham band performance at all. (You can
also receive the NAVTEX broadcasts on 518 KHz, nav warnings & offshore
weather. Also some experimental 600m beacons down there...)
