That was the problem. Somehow, I had accidentally bumped the variable
voltage control on the power supply down to 10 volts.
During the contest, I kept wondering why the dial screen was dimmer and
flickered during SSB transmit. I chalked that up to knowing I was using a
marginal AC circuit
Yes, but the "BAT LOW" message has nothing to do with the clock battery.
BAT LOW means your supply voltage is below the level you have set in
Config Menu "BAT MIN".
