Hi Robie, All of our transceivers, including the K3 and K3S, use a custom transflective LCD with high-contrast, easy to read segments. At night you can use the backlight. But they're also visible in even the most intense directly sunlight. You’ll have no trouble with visibility. 73, Wayne
