An additional detail of the firmware strangeness when using the K3 on 2M
with the K144XV:
When tuning VFO B, I will not increment to the next MHz. It wraps around
within the same 1 MHz segment.

Chuck, I had a quite similar problem. My K3 was qrp waiting for the KPA3.
When pushing tune I had full power (12W). Talking SSB I had full 12W but
when I touched the power knob, even reducing 0.1W caused the power to drop
to 8W peak. I had to retune to resume full power. I checked the LPA twice

I am seeing an approx. 20% reduction of peak SSB power after pressing ATU
TUNE. This occurs at both 50 and 100 watts into a high-quality dummy load
as indicated on the K3 RF bar display and my external LP-100A wattmeter.
Bypassing the ATU does not restore the peak power, so I don't think it's

No you don't. As has been pointed out, the filters do need to go from widest
to narrowest. But I had an
According to the manual, page 68:
Rule #2: You can install any filter in any slot, and can leave any
slot empty in anticipation of installing a crystal filter there later.
However, you should install the widest filter closest to FL1, the next
widest to its left, etc. Here are two examples that coul

If I am not mistakenyou have to have a filter in the FL1 slot. The K3
has to transmit through the widest filterand I think that should be in
the FL1 slot.

The only requirement in the instructions is that the filter width go
from widest to narrowest from FL1 to FL5. There is no requirement to
have a filter in FL1. I'm not sure about the FM filter... it MAY have to
be put in FL1. I originally had FL1 empty, and the 2.8 in FL2, 1.8 in
FL3, etc, and

I thought you had to have a filter in FL1? I don't know, I bought my K3

Hi All,
I'm new to this list and apologize if this has come up before. I just
assembled my new K3 (#1217, firmware 2.11, DSP firmware 1.81) and noticed a
bug in the filter selection routine.
I have filters in FL2 (2.7 KHz), FL3 (1.8 KHz), and FL4 (0.4 KHz). (I'm
