Michael,
You probably have "SQ MAIN" set to FM only.
Check out page 60 of the manual.
It will tell you that when in the SQ MAIN configuration selection if you tap
"1" it will toggle between SQ=FM and SQ=ALL.

Hello K3 Users,
I am trying to figure out how to set up the squelch and currently have SQ
MAIN = Sub Pot. When I rotate the RF/ SQL SUB dial I get a "SQL N/A"
message that pops up and goes away.
Any idea why this is coming up and the squelch does not work???
Thank you,
Michael

I just tried listening to a 6M FM net on my K3. I set SQ SUB to Sub Pot and
noticed that the squelch opens when the sub rf/sql is adjusted full
clockwise. Backing of slightly closes the squelch. Anyone else observe this.
Also, sometimes it goes to 29 and other times to 30 when fully advanced. My

I've tried to set the squelch on both of my K3's following the
instructions in the manual and display, but cannot make them work.
I set them both to SQ MAIN = Sub Pot, but when I turn the Sub Pot I
get the message "SQL N/A".
What have I done wrong?

Squelch is currently only active on FM, I believe.
You can park on the 6m freq and use the NR to reduce the background
noise from SSB. You should still hear all but the weakest signals,

The squelch knob is the outer knob on the concentric pot you use for RF

Hi,
I am having a problem adjusting the squelch.
I made a 6 meter fm repeater contact this morning, but the other station was
breaking up (he said my audio was fine). I thought the squelch threshold
must be set too high. In trying to set that value in the config menu I
get -- for a value and can
Well that clears it up and makes sense too. I thought I was going crazy!
Thanks for the clarification and quick response.

Nope, you are not missing anything. The squelch feature is not
yet enabled in firmware. I do not know if it will be an "all-mode"
