e BNC connector.
This is exactly what was wrong with BNC cable assemblies delivered
by Elecraft with some P3s.

Bottom line... We all spent thousands on our setups, why cheap out on a
connector...

Try The RF Connection. Just tell Joel you want Amphenol connectors. He will
make your cables to order for a reasonable price.

I've had good luck with these people:

Have bought coax jumpers, Ethernet and D types from them.
No issues or failures.

While there's a lot of coax around with poor quality shields, cheap

look first at connectors (and adapters), and to build my own cables when

Better yet... learn to make your own using Times Microwave materials or
other quality cable stock and connectors.

most all systems.

The quality of the coax is usually good, but it is the connectors that
give trouble. If you cut off the connectors and use Amphenol connectors
you will usually have a 'quality' cable.

I've seen that. Does putting your hand on top of the P3 change it any? Mine
did. Anyway it seems to be related to the BNC cable to the K3. I put a new
cable in and jiggled it some and it went away. If it comes back l'll build my
own cable with quality connectors and double shielded cable. YMMV
I’m all ears. I see it on other bands.
What type of power supply are you using? Switcher? Linear? Brand and model?

I am trying to trace down a noise on 40 meters, but it seems to follow the
VFO. On the P3, the noise is a gradual jump that is 6 khz wide. After the
vfo is not used for a while, the noise disappears. Anyone have a
direction to travel? Only on 40 mtrs it seems.
