Appears John G4ZTR has solved the control issue with K3 Inhibit.
I am using Inhibit on 2m and higher with my K3 and thought I would
share how I did it using a sequencer. BTW the K3 will not transmit
RF unless the Inhibit line is keyed by my sequencer even if I use the
XMIT button in TUNE (this
Further to my mail yesterday, I am now able to confirm that my system is
running with TX INHibit in use.
Primary control between RX and TX is achieved with a footswitch controlling
my sequencer. That in turn controls TX INHibit.
So, unless I hit the footswitch, the K3 will not produce any power f
Hi John,
when TX INH ist set to LO in the Menu an external pull-up resistor
between abt. 2.2 to 10 kOhm (to 5 VDC) is required at pin 7. This should
solve your problem. See also K3 owner´s manual.

Hello
I have a question about the TX INHibit function of the K3.
I want to use this with an external sequencer to ensure that my rig,
amplifier and masthead preamplifier (on 2m) are controlled in a safe manner,
and that even pressing the XMIT button or turning on VOX does not lead to a
mishap.

Case closed. This has not happened again.

Thank you! Sure enough, it was enabled, so I turned it off. This feature
must be recent, since it
There is an item in the CONFIG menu called "TX INH" that you should
check... It should be "OFF" unless you have set something special up.

Hi,
K3 #82 has a new home here in Central New York. I am having a blast with it

It has developed a minor problem. After a while, the TX icon below the [A]

I recall a couple of months or so back there was vociferous discussion
about TX Inhibit being absolutely vital for linear amp switching. I use
this on my FT1kMP / Acom 1000 combo. Now that it has been included I
wonder if anyone is using it and where they get the +5v from for the
pull-up resist
