The red cable on the foot switch is for keying an amplifier and plugs into the
amps PTT or relay. This allows the foot switch to key the amp ahead of the K3
on transmit. Keeps you from talking into a dead amp.

elements. I won't set up bias, and will place it on the "high" setting.
One problem I see with the foot switch is having to plug it in to the PTT
plug
Don't think there ever was a Pro Set *Plus* with the iCom element -
the "Plus" had both HC4 and IC5 elements, and a switch to select
between them. It does *not* want bias, but likes the "high" setting

Yes, you have it right. Check the suffix on the ProSet - if it is iC or
K2, then it has an electret element and will need bias. AFAIK, all

I have been given a Heil Pro Set Plus Headphone and want to be sure to plug
it in correctly at the back of the K3 and set the configuration correctly in
the radio. The Pro set has two cables, one, a 1/8 inch mono plug and a 1/8
