What is your firmware version? Power problems similar to what you described were seen in versions prior to 3.03.
If this doesn't fix it you might want to be more specific as to what data mode you are using and how you are achieving it. Such as K3 generated or sound card generated. If sound card, are you using Line In or Mic In. How are you setting the level (AGC bars), etc..
