The display of the K3 is "hard coded". When it was designed, there was no
KPA1500 hence it can only read KPA500.

I am not certain of the answer, but the K3 to KPA500 or the KPA1500 is
the same. So either the K3 firmware cannot distinguish between the two
or that the K3 firmware has not been updated to detect the KPA500 from
the KPA1500.
