Not to worry - it has always been that way, and all of them will do that
too.
The uP lines that drive the LED display are shared with other functions,
and even after the LED is 'blanked', these other functions will still be
active and the LED segments will have a bit of a 'glow' to them

Quick question... I noticed that after the LED goes out after displaying
the frequency, some of the segments are still lit, but very faint. It
does not affect the radio in any way, but I was just curious to why this
happens.

Not a lot you can do other than to devise some sort of shade to keep the
direct sunlight off the LED. If it is not a frequent requirement,
shading it with your palm long enough to see the frequency may be enough.

I am experiencing a static like noise level when the LED is lit. The noise is
significant enough to cover up any weak signal. I almost have to tune, wait
for it to time out and see if anyone is there. It doesn't occur on all
frequencies, it is random. Sometimes on 80M, I have noise when the L
