Thanks to all that responded to my query.

 

Per the manual, "Unlike SSB modes, DATA A disables compression and RX/TX EQ.
Upper sideband is the default."  There is no mention of the change to the
filter bandwidth to 500Hz default.  I was trying to use Pactor 3 at 2400Hz
and Winmor at 1600Hz.

 

One thing I haven't been able to figure out is that in DATA A mode - going
to the menu and MIC BIAS - it shows N/A does this mean that it is OFF in
DATA A mode or is it the same as in USB mode (ON in my case)?
