I had my K2 on in my office at home while I did some database programming/testing for work (I frequently keep a radio on just in case I hear an interesting call). While debugging a complex section of programming, I hear ES1QD. ES1QD? Estonia? I looked over at the K2 parked on 7.010 and his signal was S9+. I checked the signal with my Kenwood TS-850S/AT and sure enough S9+10. My fingers landed on the paddles and began sending my call. There was already a pileup, but I had all night (Yes it is an all nighter with this program testing). After about 10 minutes listening to the exchanges I finally heard KJ7?. I shot back my call twice and was rewarded with KJ7BS TU 559 559 BK. It was so natural, my exchange, ES1QD TU 599 599 OP MARK MARK QTH QTH AZ AZ 5W 5W QRP QRP. He acknowledged my 5W QRP and sent 73 DE ES1QD TU.
I just worked Estonia on 40m with 5w from my K2 and received a 559 signal report. Its still got it. It is still REV A. That's how old it is, S/N 00539.
