Here's a neat and simple solution that I discovered when I got my PR6: If you
need to also power another Elecraft accessory such as a P3 you will need a way
to plug the two phono (RCA) plugs into the single phono jack in the back of the
K3 (accessory power outlet).
Rooting around my big bag of audio connectors I happened across a Radio Shack
gold-plated two-into-one RCA adapter plug and---voila!---I realized it would
allow me to power both accessories simultaneously. Before I ran across the
adapter I realized I had no way to power my new preamp with the P3 already
plugged in but now my dilemma was solved.
I would check with an pro audio shop for this adapter if there is no Radio
Shack outlet in your area as these 2-into1 RCA types are probably not so common
elsewhere.
Now my K3's stock 12v accessory power jack easily provides enough juice to both
P3 and PR6 simultaneously and it saved me from having to use another separate
12v source to run the PR6 in the process.
