Following Kevin Stover’s and Don Wilhelm’s advice – a normally open push button
mounted in a film can or in a Sharpie cap respectively -- I have settled on
fitting a button switch into a tennis ball . . . .

If I drop it, it might come right back
With their usual vile green color it’ll be hard to lose track
of on the operating desk
Squeezing the ball in between button presses would be good hand
exercise
With a little dexterity and the right placement of the right
size button it could be used as either a hand switch or a foot switch
It would give the operator and the dog something to do when the band
goes dead

And, the housing of the switch would be free --

I live about three blocks from a municipal tennis court. Suitable candidates
for a PTT switch body abound on the surrounding sidewalks. I guess the players
around here really aren’t very good.

Cheers,

Ted, KN1CBR
