Hi Everyone,
I use a Heil PR-781 with my K3 using the K3 EQ and managing it with the
K3_EZ Program from N2BC.
Many different EQ settings yield some really nice audio. Excellent
comments over the air.
Not too expensive either.

I have the following settings for SSB:
Mic: Turner +3 (set to position 1 on the mic)
Mic Gain: 27
CMP: 19
EQ- Flat
Many unsolicited compliments on the k3 audio.
Checked on a HP spec-an shows very good audio waveform
I have not changed these settings for months but I do audio checks using
he
I am using K3 with HC5. This is the most efficient combination of all I
tried. Mic gain about 17 at HI setting and compression 20 for stateside, 25
for DX and 28 in pileups. The only distortion I had was when the HC5
connection was intermittent.
