Yes, the KAT500 is supplied configured for an amplifier other than the KPA500 rather than the KPA500 coming configured... I'll mention this to our manual author. The antenna tuner does its tuning with exciter (K3) power. The KAT500 has a relay that interrupts the amplifier's keying line. If the

Chuck, you are quite right about #1. It should say KAT500. We'll fix that. (Sometimes I slip and fall into the alphabet soup.) The amp is in standby when the KAT500 does a TUNE operation for any reason. That's what the KEY line does to automate the power control. It disables the amp while the SWR
