Looks like it uses an deprecated API and doesn't manifest requiring some pkg-config package for it. That was the reason for notorious Glib build failures on Precise: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wingpanel/+bug/912224 (the bug is marked invalid because it's Vala's fault, not ours). -- shnatsel -- Ma
