I know there had been some discussion regarding Burg previously. In fact, I
believe there were blueprints filed and everything. However, due to a
multitude of issues, we've decided against it—at least for Luna.
I'd be interested in seeing it considered for L+1, though!

Doesn't BURG break plymouth?
It does, but only in certain cases which should not be observed on latest
Ubuntu (AFAIK and in theory, though). And Google knows some workarounds,
too. Not to mention Plymouth has only one real use case by now and the best
