I believe this problem is related to gnuplot-mode so you might want to
check with their maintainers. I've seen this issue reported here before
[1] but I do not know of a solution, and I have no access to a windows
machine.

I can open a gnuplot buffer plot.gp and transmit a line to gnuplot (e.g plot
sin(x)). After that emcas hangs. A process explorer shows a gnuplot.exe task
