Location: Mountain View, CA (Only local candidate) Duration:6+ Months The primary responsibility of the Build/Deployment Engineer is to manage builds and deployments (development & pre-production). This person will work with other team members in Development, QA, and support engineering to control releases and improve these processes. Knowledge of software configuration, source control, build engineering, scripting and system administration is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform and manage software builds and releases to Development and QA environments. Manage source code version control ( Visual Source safe ) . Execute build and deploy scripts using Visual Build Pro. Author internal documentation, such as build procedures and installation / configuration notes Create and maintain continuous build process. Deploy database updates to SQL Server validate deployment packages Design, develop and maintain tools to support the needs of the build team Assists in establishing and implementing configuration management program, policies and procedures Create and run build reports Understanding of web services, web application development, SQL Server, MSMQ and multi-tier application systems. Detailed knowledge of the Windows operating system and tools Detail oriented with good organizational skills ยท Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of SCM best practices and software development processes. Plus points Experience using build tools and utilities like make, nmake, nant, cruise control, etc. Writing automation scripts for enterprise build process.
