*Position: Network Engineer
Location: Dulles, VA
Duration: 6 to 12 Months*

*Overview:*
Responsible for designing and implementing enterprise networks and related
hardware/software. Design, document and implement systems/network
architecture. Perform assessments on existing technologies to determine
performance and capacity gaps. Establishing security (firewalls, intrusion
detection), connectivity and access parameters and provide recommendations
to optimize network infrastructure. Test and tune security devices and
systems. Program routers and switches. Implement communications technologies
(data or voice). Manage network services from planning phase through
implementation. Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and
software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required.


*Education:
*Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of
industry experience or in a related area.

*Technologies:*
• The candidate must be an expert in the implementation of Information
Security devices (firewalls, VPNs, IDS and scanners).
• Must have expert knowledge of Check Point VPN-1/FW-1 NG FP3/AI on IBM,
DELL or Nokia platform, Netscreen Firewalls and VPN appliances, Cisco PIX
Firewalls and Cisco  VPN3000   concentrator, Sourcefire IDS, Nessus scanner
and Qualys scanner is must.
• The candidate must be an expert in network technologies including routing,
switching, load-balancing, and QoS. Strong experience with TCP/IP, RIP,
OSPF, BGP and EIGRP -     Hands-on experience with WAN network topologies
and hardware (CSU/DSU, Private Line, Frame Relay, ATM, SONET, MPLS).
• Knowledge of caching technology, RADIUS and TACACS useful.
• Advanced knowledge of Network Management tools such as Cisco Works, MRTG,
and Network Analyzers Candidate must have advanced understanding of TCP/IP
suite protocols    and DNS systems.
• Candidate must have experience with identifying application layer security
issues and performing assessments. To qualify for this opportunity,
candidates should have the right    balance of the problem solving abilities
and technical hands-on network/security analysis and operation skills.
• Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self starter, be well organized,
be able to multi-task and work in an on-call environment. Must be able to
troubleshoot and resolve a    multitude of network issues independently.
•  Must be able to lead, teach and provide guidance to fellow workers. Must
be able to design solutions, rather than accept limitations when resolving
issues.
