Candidate will be responsible for various database administration tasks in the development, QA, and production environments. Candidates for this position should have an understanding of database concepts and technologies and experience in UNIX. This person will need to work with internal IT and client organizations, including other DBA's, systems analysts, developers and the management team. o Install, configure and upgrade UDBEEE server software and related products in a UNIX environment. o Create and implement UDBEEE backup and recovery methods and disaster recovery methods. o Database tuning for optimal performance to meet development needs. o Capacity planning. o Resolving development and QA database requests, and troubleshooting various database issues. - Design, test and implement UDBEEE high availability solutions. - Provides technical assistance and mentoring to staff. - Be available, occasionally, to cover live weekend implementation events . *Responsibilities *Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas Responsible for planning, coordinating, and administration of UDBEEE database(s), including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools. Responsibilities may include the following: troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving UDBEEE errors and failures, auditing activities, and resource utilization. *Minimum Requirements* 5+ years experience in database administration - Additional Knowledge & Skills - Strong experience in UDB EEE installations, administration, design and development. - Strong experience with UNIX - Minimum 4 years working experience with UDBEEE. - Strong UNIX shell scripting experience (PERL, KORN). - Extensive experience in SQL tuning and UDBEEE database performance tuning. - Proven diagnostic problem solving and solution development capabilities required *Education *4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience Certifications UDBEEE Certification a strong plus. Healthcare experience is another plus.
