Hello Everyone,

I know this has been bouncing around for quite some time, and from
reading back thru a lot of postings and even a feature request (#68) , I
haven't seen anything or heard anything in the last couple of months
regarding Jog while Program Paused. I was just wondering if this is
something that can be revisited to try to get it made available in
master for testing. I do know that it is available thru the machinekit
project, and see through postings an that forum, that it still needs
some testing but looks to be pretty much ready to rock and roll.

I have tried to go down that road in regards to getting just my test pc
configured to run that, and have issues every time I try. Issues not
relating to the software, but to my lack of knowledge on setting up and
programing from different repo's and software versions, ( I'm going on 2
and a half years using Linuxcnc, and just in the last 3 weeks was able
to efficiently build/run/update/reproduce on the stable 2.6 branch and
not master).

I also know that at times it probably looks as though that we are always
asking for things and maybe not helping out enough, but we are willing
to test anything thrown out there and report back with as much info as
possibly available. We now have all three of our turning centers running
everyday 8-10 hr shifts, and have not had a single issue regarding tools
not found in the tool table, Linuxcnc slowing down, pc's freezing up,
and all the other crazy things I have had happen in the recent history.

Today I am actually going to start the tear down and rewire/retrofit of
a 3 axis Cincinnati Milacron vertical machining center to Linuxcnc and
add a 4th axis while doing it. That still leaves 2 more machining
centers and 1 turning center for sure that are now going to get Linuxcnc
put on them.

Also, I would like to thank Chris Morley for finding the problem
regarding the way the tool table and Gscreen/Gmoccapy communicate with
each other. Apparently data was not going back and forth at the right
times, if at all, and it was causing repetitive issues of us getting
faults regarding "Tool XX not found in Tool Table". I think we have the
perfect combination of GUI and tool wear offset option, that exploited
this problem. He was able diagnose the problem and made some mods to the
gladevcp/tool table editor configs on 9/15 that cleared up those issues,
since then we have not had one single issue of a tool not found in the
tool table.

Hopefully not too long winded, but I figured I would throw it out there
since the fest is just around the corner, and I would hope that maybe
this could be talked about amongst all you guys while there.

Thanks

Rick
