A recent discussion mentioned whether there would be a 2.9.5 release.
The list of currently unreleased features in 2.9 is:
* tests: Add a test for spindle INI speed limits function
* Fix a race; add a test to ensure the 'result' and 'stderr' files
are closed before continuing to run 'checkresul

The patch as it stands carefully does not change existing behaviour.
Which is good.
On the other hand, the existing behaviour is wrong and annoying.
What do others think is the right way to go?
(And as a bug fix, would it go in 2.9)
