regulatory requirements for LAN ports

I'm seeking information about safety and EMC requirements (if any) for LAN ports on a medical device. What kind of connector comply with IEC 601-1? How long have to be the cables used in EMC test? (please don't say less than 3 m!) Thanks M.P.
