Re: NiMH battery discharging

Chris- What you have going on is the classic "weak link in the chain" battery problem. One cell has less capacity than the others, and once it is exhausted (at 360 mA load), the voltage across it collapses and then reverses (reverse charge). Thus the drop to about 3 volts. Charging can be thought

Ed, I'm aware of the typical C/10 rating for Lead Acid batteries. However, many NiMH cells are rated at higher discharge rates. Problem is, my cells are unmarked; so I'm somewhat in the dark. Even after I opened the blister pack; I couldn't find any manufacturer's markings. I may have to get a

Hi all, I have a question for you not specifically related to EMC; but I hope that I can “hijack” the group’s attention for another sort of problem. Recently, I’ve been allowed to do some non-compliance design work. Specifically, I’m working on a battery charger/power supply design. My

Conflict of Interest Notice: My employer makes component power supplies. PFC data should be available. It should be an important part of the vendor's DVT. Component power supply PF can be affected by many variations in the input power quality, output load(s), and input voltage. In any case, the

Ladies and Gentlemen I think I may be stuck between a rock and a hard place. We have a new project that is, for all practical purposes a custom design for a client. We purchase a supply that indicates compliance with EN61000-3-2 harmonics. Our customer wants a more quantitative number
