Hi Rich, I may have spoken too soon - there's something odd between the No. 3 and 4 issues. Although both issues have the same number of pages (24) they are not exact duplicates of each other. Some pages match while other pages don't match between the issues. This is why I concluded they

Hi Richard, Could the issue you're looking for have a typo for the Number? (i.e., the "No. 3" should really be "No. 4" for July-August issue?) Here's all 1994 issues, and the actual content for each one is different, no duplicates. https://ewh.ieee.org/soc/pses/Downloads/newsletters/94

This is done all the time for testing transformers to the induced voltage test. Safety testing of a transformer requires a verification of a higher voltage operation and the only way to do this without saturating the core is to increase operating frequency. The formulas below show that Voltage an

I have used a 60 Hz transformer for MIL-STD-461 CS01/101 which is much higher power than required for this application. I may have not gotten to 50 kHz/150 kHz, but it was just fine at 1 kHz. It's not a problem. Ken Javor Phone: (256) 650-5261 > From: Brian O'Connell > Reply-To: Brian O'Connel

Think of it in terms of hysteresis loss and eddy current, which are proportional to freq. Eddy current loss would depend on construction (hi-R magnetics and lam thickness). Might want to verify xfmr temp. And it may be noisy. The biggie is to never use a 400Hz xfmr at 60Hz (core sat). If you a

Anchor the box, and do the 35 lb. test. If it passes, you’re done. If it fails, you have the ammo to change to an appliance coupler. It’s a simple and easy test. The pull test proves that the anchor hole and cord diameter are the right dimensions. We already know that the anchor
