OT story. I saw an official instruction for aircraft that specified a minimum separation of '5 nm'. Pretty close! With best wishes DESIGN IT IN! OOO – Own Opinions Only www.jmwa.demon.co.uk J M Woodgate and Associates Rayleigh England Sylvae in aeternum

[PSES] Co-located modules

All,For a module that has "must not be co-located" restriction on FCC grant.  What is the minimum separation distance allowed for another transmitter?  I recall 20cm but can't find where it is documented. Regards,Stephen - This

It appears so, but the automotive scene is still not entirely free of grey areas. For instance, if the product is made or offered for sale by a vehicle manufacturer, even if solely as aftermarket, different rules seem to apply, or so some people say. With best wishes DESIGN IT IN! OOO – Own

Dear group, EN50498 (EMC) Product family standard for aftermarket electronic equipment in vehicles  (emissions & limited immunity) Can I correctly assume that if I apply EN50498 to an inverter specifically intended only for use only in a vehicle, then I don’t need to also reference the

That sort of product is ahead of the standards development. Clearly, the HV part must be demonstrated to be safe. Notified Bodies don't exist in this context, but you would do well to go for third-party assessment by a major test house. With best wishes DESIGN IT IN! OOO - Own Opinions Only

[PSES] LVD EMC and High voltage SMPS

Hi, I am hoping you can give some clarification. I have a client with a High voltage SMPS that is looking place into the European market. There is low voltage input that powers displays and controls, and High voltage DC input ( >1500) for the pulsing SMPS. Since the High voltage DC input is

I can't see any need to use hardware to hold the cords together. When separated, no hazardous parts are accessible and of course the EUT doesn't need to be earthed when its mains supply is disconnected. With best wishes DESIGN IT IN! OOO – Own Opinions Only

To what standard(s) are you certifying? 60950, 62368 or other? Are you able to use hardware to hold the two power cords together? I would expect this to be required to meet the protective earth requirement for 60950 Section 3.2.5 Power Cords since you are working with a detachable AC mains

IEC 60950-1 and eventually 62368-1. The adapter is not needed for North America where we use standard cables with notched C-15 plugs. No hardware used to hold cables together. David. De : Adam Dixon [mailto:lanterna.viri...@gmail.com] Envoyé : 14 février 2017 11:18 À : David Gelfand Cc :
