I guess I don¹t see an issue with a spring-loaded finger. The operation would be very much like the switch that controls lights in an automobile when the door opens. It only need make contact when door is fully closed. Ken Javor Phone: (256) 650-5261 From: Frank Tang Date: Fri, 17 Jun 2022 00:

Hi Ken,Yes, this is is regarding safety, we are not seeing EMC issues on previous design. This is something I didn't consider because of the door size (~3ft x 7ft) and weight (about 30 lbs) and the depth these spring-loaded captive “finger” have to be. -- Thank you and best regards. - Frank

Hi Mark,Thank you for your response, I will have to revisit using gaskets and if there is enough force to have good contact once the door is in place because there is no locking feature, since the panels are seated in to slots on the frame. The original design does utilize long ground cables, but

I¹m just curious why something like a spring-loaded captive ³finger² couldn¹t be in contact with the door/plate when installed. I¹m assuming here the grounding is for safety, not EMI. In the latter case, the gasket approach is necessary. Also, for safety I don¹t see the gas-tight spot as an issue

Hi Frank, Can you do a longer ground that allows moving the cover to the side? In my experience it is risky to design a system where the ground is routinely disconnected. If you need to design it that way, I recommend using a braided gasket that is partially compressed when the panel is instal

Hi All,In the past we have typically done a stud and nut grounding for removable lift-off access panels, but this is an inconvenience to disconnect the ground cable. What are other methods for grounding large panel doors (3ft x 7ft) if any? -- Thank you and best regards. - Frank - --

We have received a GS certification that states an applicable standard, VDE 0620-1 : 2016 + A1 : 2017 that is invalid and replaced by 2021 version. Is there any transitional period from 2016 version to 2021 version? Your guidance is appreciated! Thanks and regards, Scott -
