800 MHz GSM in Canada will fall under a future standard, RSS 132. It is now
in review and has not yet been published in the Canada Gazette. The most
detailed time frame I have is "soon". Feel free to keep in touch for

Hi, Folks -
We have noticed that not everybody is using the same formula for calculating
E-field inside of a TEM cell.
Does anyone out there have practical formulas (and/or any other useful
information...) relating power to the E-field?
Many thanks in advance,

Hi, Bob -
That depends on whether or not you consider Canada to be the 51st state (as
some do) .

I agree wholeheartedly with Chris. And I must add that whatever this
"representation" is, it sounds very Draconian to me. Unless John is
secretly an Al-Quaeda operative, I cannot see any reason to force him off

Could we request a justification from the moderators, please.

Could we please get off this topic, have a nice chamomile tea or, if

I see this all veering off into the realm of political correctness. Let's
take it as read that we all respect each others' views (even if we don't

For a listed product, is a multiple listing not required? It certainly is

Then, of course, there is the (apocryphal?) story of the Brits forgetting to

Regarding the US and Canadian approvals -
1. I assume that the GSM radio module in question includes operation at
1900MHz and is approved here - if it is a 900/1800 MHz version only, it is a
no go.
2. The final device must meet be re-approved both in US and Canda as a new

You really should attend: this is a great event not only for both technical
and practical papers and presentations (there are also workshops), but a
terrific opportunity to meet peers and colleagues. Some friendships will

Hello, Folks -
Can you share with me how your favourite/preferred lab(s) handle client
presence during testing? I'd like to know
a) Do they allow presence in lab (technical area) itself ? If not, then
where are clients who are at the lab normally placed?
b) Are engineering/design type tests
