Dear colleagues. In EN 55032:2015 the definition of a wired network port (3.1.32) is for the connection of voice, data and signalling transfers intended to interconnect widely dispersed systems by direct connection to a single user or multi-user communication network e.g. CATV, PSTN, ISDN, xDSL, LAN.
We have a communication system that uses RJ45 network connectors for audio, data & signalling using a modified version of the Ethernet protocol. It is mostly direct connection between two units over distances of up to 150m but can also be multi-connection using a customised Ethernet switch. Would these types of ports required conducted emissions measurements as detailed in annex A tables A.11 & A.12? Many thanks in advance. Ian McBurney Design & Compliance Engineer. Allen & Heath Ltd.
