BASE64 encoding on attachments used by email clients would mean approximately
37% increase in file size on the email. So with an imposed 10 megabyte limit
then the largest single file-size image you could attach and send successfully
would be around 7 megabytes or so.

Test image was received here all OK.

Subject: [PSES] This is a Test - This is Only a Test - Second Attempt

Hello List persons,

This is a test. Do not adjust the controls of your set. This is only a test.

We have enabled the ability to send image files as attachments in the EMC-PSTC
Email List. We limit the size to 10 MB but we believe that includes the email
as well as the attachment(s).

I tried to send an image file of 9,297 kB in size (according to Windoze) but
the list rejected it. Said my email was 12,879,774 bytes. That means that my
Thunderbird client added about 3.4 MB to the package.

So here is a second real image of size. The attached image file is 6,237 kB in
size (according to Windoze). I would expect you could send multiple images as
long as the images plus email do not exceed 10 MB.

If anyone has any issues with this test, please let one of the List Admins know.

Best regards,

Scott Douglas
