The Sanmina Product Integrity (PI) group is a Global multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for product design robustness, global regulatory approvals and compliance to customersÂ’ specification. The Sanmina PI team currently has an opening for a Senior Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer.
The PI group works closely with the research and development community and provides design consultancy, engineering and validation testing throughout the product development cycle. The candidate is required to work closely with design teams on several concurrent projects providing advanced EMC engineering expertise and modeling, to ensure product compliance to both EMC and Radio requirements. Involvement could cover all phases of a typical program development cycle; including architectural influence, EMC budgeting and simulation, defining market requirements and product validation for final field release. The candidate will be responsible for organizing the testing of models/prototypes in a state of the art automated facility, to confirm compliance. The candidate should also be able to initiate basic investigations into the cause of EMC radiation, techniques to reduce EM emissions and improve product immunity performance. The EMC engineer will be working closely with the product designers/managers to define market requirements, overall EMC approach and provide identified deficiencies and recommended fixes. The EMC engineer will also be responsible for advancing the test capabilities of the PI lab and ensure accreditation requirements on EMC test cases are acquired and maintained. The EMC engineer may also be called on to mentor junior staff members. Qualifications / Experience Required: - Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of hardware design experience in the Telecommunications industry is preferred. - Exceptional knowledge of EMC theory - Experience with advanced EMC test equipment and modeling tools - Experience with European and North American EMC test requirements (Telcordia GR-1089-CORE, FCC Part 15, ANSI, EN55022, EN55024) - Must have strong interpersonal skills, problem resolution, proactive and self-starter, demonstrated teamwork - Project management skills are desired - Candidates with equivalent experience/skills will also be considered.
