Set the time step size small enough to represent your intended bandwidth of interest. There is a book that contains the simulation equations [theoretically derived and empirically modified] for 22 and 24 gauge wires, two sets of wires used in telco transmission, good to 1% accuracy over the spec

Richard, As with all modeling methods the choice of step size is the key to convergence to credible results. From my experience, unless the computer runtime is very large, running the simulation with decreasing step size and watching the difference between runs until a reasonable differ
