Julian,
It can be done with a broadband noise source and a bandpass filter. Several
companies manufacture noise sources. I use one made by Noisecom. For the
bandpass filter, if you don’t need really steep skirts, a low pass and a
high pass filter can be connected in series. A 6 dB attenuator placed between
the two filters will help them work well together. Suitable filters are
available at Mini-circuits. These might work.
Low Pass: BLP-1000
High Pass: SHP-900
