In my experience of UK MOD contracts, there is always a clause which states that equipment supplied must meet all relevent commercial requirements in addition to the specific military std. This always made the EU CE marking a requirement of the contract. If you are working as a sub contractor you would not always get sight of the actual contract, and in many cases I dealt with, the prime contractor did not pick up on that particular clause either. Another point to note (I may of missed this one in a previous posting), only a few of the EU countries exempted military equipment from the scope of the EMC directive (UK and Italy are the two I specifically recall) Russ Beattie
