Subject: Seeking Confirmation of ITE Safety Standards in Various Countries

Art,

For Mexico, they have 2 Normative standards called NOMs to answer your
specific question. The telecom requirements can be found in NOM 001. The
rest of the IT or "Infomatics" requirements are in NOM 016. However,
Office Appliances (copiers etc) are in NOM 016, just to ensure the main
trio of safety standards are identified.

The Mexican Standards writing organization, NYCE, is attempting to
combine these 3 NOMs into a single new NOM to update and align with IEC
950, second edition, third amendment (as of October). I wish them
success in this effort as this would permit Mexico's ability to consider
joining the CB scheme. More will be know next year.

Regards, Bill Bryans

P.S. Opinions expressed are my own.
