I was able to reproduce the problem using the configuration file you
attached.
When I increased the STEPGEN_MAXACCEL (headroom acceleration) to
STEPGEN_MAXACCEL = 165.0
I did not see the problem anymore.

In the meaning, you could just do like me...start EMC2 and close it.
When closing EMC2, it will stop the realtime.

I don't know the exact sequence of steps you're doing, but the way to
get a "halcmd:" prompt is to run:
halcmd -kf
halrun is a script that starts realtime, loads a .hal file, and the
optionally gives you an interactive halcmd shell. Once you exit from
the halcmd that halrun sets up f
Once one gets into hal and then closes the terminal window, then open the
terminal window again upon entering:
halrun
a message appears:
Realtime already running
but you don't get the hal prompt back. How can one get it back short of
rebooting the PC?
