Interesting read about using cheaper brgs:

The touch screen I use with EMC2 on 6.06 LTS is the Magictouch
overlay. This can be used with any monitor. The 1315 is the one I
have. It will fit (barely) a 15 inch screen. It will work with any
size monitor up to 15 inches. Keytec, the manufacturer, has an
autoinstaller. This worked ver
Aram - you need to look for Linux drivers for whatever display/pointing
hardware you want to use.
EMC2 doesn't care what the input device is, as long as it works with Linux.
The question "does this work with EMC2" is really "does this work with
Linux". You should ask the manufacturers if they

Looking closer at that link those are only the flange mounts. The
bearings are not included.
For a .311" shaft end they are also recommending 2 deep groove ball
bearings and not angular contact bearings.

Aram,
Those flange mount bearings coupled with a good anti-backlash nut will
give you a tight axis.
I still think that the flex in a long 3/8" leadscrew is something to
consider.

Aram,
Since you are only talking about cutting wood and plastic a standard
ball bearing would probably work.
Angular thrust bearings are hard to find in sizes smaller than 10mm Id.
The best way would be to support the leadscrew with 2 bearings, 1 on
each end and not a floating leadscrew with 1 b
I have worked with touch screens in linux at a previous job.
Controllers that are Microtouch and ELO based are well supported.
These have either a serial or USB interface. Here is how to set them up.

I remember that on EMC2 show was touch screen panel. I want to equip my

Hello
I want to build a small cnc demo machine that design only to demonstrate
how axis move and not to make steel chip –maybe plastic or wood chip.
I want to use 3/8 lead screw. In X travel 30 inch, Y travel 25 inch, Z
travel 12inch.
Here is place that makes screws

Hi all,
I have experienced something similar. I have a USC setup that was last run a
few years back on BDI 2.18. I wanted to use it again, but I have a new
computer and wanted to use the latest EMC.
I have not been able to make it run on this new computer (this is the second

Try the comm routine once the communications are proved to be

Hello,
I have not used this machine for approximately two months it was running last I
used it, this morning I needed it and it let me down. EMC is failing to load
and dumping an error file. At first I thought that I had forgot to power up
the pico board but it was on and voltages were good.
