It looks to me like Ian and John are talking about two different things. A
stepping motor is usually used to drive an axis. On these types of machines
an axis has limits. An axis such as x,y, or z can not be programed to free run.
I my opinion if you want to free run a stepping motor then try usi
I have stepper drivers, but I don't have their configuration, so I tested
them. They worked perfectly at 8 kHz, but on frequency bigger then 9 kHz
they just don't react.
8 kHz is really enough for me, but there is problem with EMC because in
stepconf maximum allowed value for step time is 50 000ns,
Does anyone know of a driver similar to this:
http://www.solarbotics.com/products/k_cmd/resources/
that is not a kit and can go up to 36 Volts?
Thanks.

Have you sat down at your computer and actually done the exercises

Hi,
I'm still struggling to understand HAL and how I can make this stepper
free-run, preferably at a commanded speed and I don't seem to be getting
very far on. One thing which I have realised and can't find any mention
of in the literature I have found so far, is that I don't know how the

The list archives are at

You'll have to do a bit of searching.

I erased (by accident)the post for making the digital readout larger on axis
could someone repost that line?
Thanks
