I like IGUS for high flex cables. I just replaced the encoder cable on
my lathe with CF-111-011-D. That gave me 4 twisted pair and 4 straight
conductors for the encoder power. They have all sorts of different
combinations of conductors, twisting and shielding. They also sell

If you are lacking torque, another option is to only run the tap in to
your first peck, then hand tap the rest. There should be enough there
to get the tap started nice and square, and M8 taps aren't too difficult
to drive by hand with a decent wrench.
