I've used an online nesting service that worked great. I think it cost $5.00 per nest or so, but the same nesting software if I were to buy it was thousands of dollars. The money saved by doing effective nesting was large.. making the $5.00 per nest charge insignificant. It will be interestin

You are probably right. I am not a fan of the subscription software model, especially when you have to be online to have access to most features. However, I see the value in paying monthly for some and in the case of Fusion 360 it is a very powerful CAD/CAM solution that normally cost thousands

hi i think that Fusion 360will be bad news for small cad/cam companies. structure where need to pay only every month is much better than buy something that you may not need it few month etc On Sun, Dec 14, 2014 at 8:00 AM, Tom Easterday wrote: > > > > On Dec 13, 2014, at 7:39 PM, a k wrote: > >

Also, you can use Gedit with Arc Generator to build a G code file. I just need to add the XZ to the Arc Generator if your interested. JT On 12/13/2014 9:53 AM, Tom Easterday wrote: > Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive CAM package for turning? We use > Sheetcam and (to a lesser extent

Tom You only really need a CAM package for parts that are contoured. I.E. not regular OD, Face, Id and such. For the standard stuff I use NGCGUI and LatheMacro. Both of these are found under the example configs. For the contour stuff I use Cambam. The lathe module is not very strong and does no

Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive CAM package for turning? We use Sheetcam and (to a lesser extent) MeshCAM for milling and jet cutting toolpaths. We are working on a lathe retrofit and would like to find a good standalone CAM package that can generate lathe toolpaths. The facility
