This is probably unrelated but... I found that while in MDI mode, if you
make a change to the tool offset file, you need to do a "G43 hX" to see
the change in AXIS even if the change is to the current tool. I found
using the "Machine/Show EMC Status" helped to figure this out.

Hi all,
I created a tool table in my configs folder. In my ini file I named
it mill.tbl but it doesn't seem to load in emc2 2.1.7. So, is that
the correct location? What else do I need to do?
