Thanks to all who answered. The hose I need is 3/16 I.D. The setup is a portable one that has a trigger sprayer nozzle on the end of the tube and it attaches to a gallon jug with a special cap. I think I'll use the urethane fuel line, since no one reported a problem and it's most convenient f

I've use 1/2" and 5/8" automotive heater hose for oil and it has held up for years. Just the regular black rubber fabric reinforced hose. Napa will sell it by the box or the foot. Yes, not all fuel hose is the same. Fuel injection hose is a lot different than the old low pressure gasoline hose

Just use 6mm (1/4) pneumatic tubing. It's flexible, cheap, any colour you like, and there are dozens of fittings to go with it. Just change it once a year to preclude hardening. Regards Roland On 4 December 2015 at 00:40, rayj wrote: > Greetings, > > I need a flexible line for coolant on a dri

Hi Raymond, From your description your current hose is probably PVC. PVC is naturally quite hard but plasticizers are added to make it flexible. Over time those plasticizers break down and are dissolved by oils so the plastic hardens. Urethane should be fine. It would probably be my choice in

Thanks for the reply. It's not so much the pressure, it's the degradation from the oil that concerns me. It's a hand pump system and the fluid is being drawn up the hose. Problem I have with the current hose is that is is so stiff it knocks over the jug I'm pumping from. It's so hard it's sta

That's probably overkill for coolant. I've seen thread reinforced vinyl hose used for that. Just about all of the home stores carry it and it is rated for about 80 psi or so. But if your shop is unheated that will get stiff. Regular rubber hose will also work - airline, etc Dave On 12/3/2015

Greetings, I need a flexible line for coolant on a drill press. I'm thinking about using urethane fuel line, since it is readily available locally. If anyone has any experience doing this, I'd like to hear about it. TIA -- Raymond Julian Kettle River, MN The things we admire in men, kindness
