Gentlemen,
I would like to know if anyone has developed a user interface
specifically to use with a touch screen. I am using an LCD screen with
a Keytec overlay. The screen buttons need to be larger than most of
the interfaces available with EMC. I would like to have easily
adjustable buttons and/or automatically sized buttons depending on the
screen size and the size of the window. Size of the buttons is the
most critical.
I would like to have an onscreen keyboard. This would pop up as
required for input. This would pop up with letters or numbers
depending on the input needed.
I would like to have a complete pin interface between the display
and hal so I could use the information and buttons interchangeably.
Axis has the axisui to allow some of this. This makes the control feel
much more complete.
I don't necessarily need a tool motion display. This takes up a
lot of screen real estate. I, as an operator, very seldom used the
motion display for running the machine. The programmer should have run
a verification on the program before sending it to the shop. If this
is included it would be in another window and pop up when requested
(ie backplot in tkemc).
I have experimented with the different interfaces in EMC. I am NOT
a python, tcl or any other type of interface programmer. I am not
opposed to (and am studying these to enhance my understanding of what
is going on) learning one or more of these languages.
I want to have my machine up and running. With the amount of time
(or lack thereof) I have for study more time would pass before I get
my machine to the state I want it. I want to short circuit the time
passing.
If some, most or all these features exist please let me know.
thanks
Stuart
