Hi guys, As most of you following the svn commits may have seen, we're developing Ethumb (http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/wiki/Ethumb), an in-process and a client-server thumbnail generator that is meant to replace Epsilon, removing many implementation and design problems found in that project.
The project is quite mature now and ProFUSION is using it for some internal projects with great success. Viktor is also using it in his image-viewer. So we'd like to deprecate the old project moving it to OLD and so would like to ask people to move their projects to use Ethumb instead. Python bindings will come soon as well and Canola will be ported to it. The DBus dependency is just on client-server and we want (but no time ATM) to have the server to listen to more IPC systems, possibly ecore_ipc or raw unix sockets. It should be able to transparently process events from all sources. With some changes we can make various IPC optional at runtime or compile time, no real need on our part but if someone wants to implement this we could help.
