I think this is the same thread I mentioned a PERL script from muhri.net. It allows you to change background images WITHOUT restarting Enlightenment. I scanned through the perl script quickly and he uses eesh to do most, if not all, of the work. You can likely "borrow" some of his code to possibly

Ton, I am sorry that I don't have the answer for you, but wanted to give some input on this. XFCE is in part a window manager, so I believe that it and enlightenment may not work together. Try taking XFCE out of the mix and run ximian desktop with the enlightenment window manager. Let me know i
